Common Standards for Elbows

Date:2026-09-07View:3Tags:Drill pipe,Sprial steel pipe,Boier tube
1. General Dimensions: ASME B16.9: Regardless of the manufacturing process or materials used, the basic geometric parameters of elbows, such as dimensions and tolerances, are usually based on ASME B16.9. This is the most widely used dimensional standard internationally.

2. Specific Processes: ISO 15590 Series: When dealing with long-distance pipelines in the oil and gas industry, if the elbow is manufactured using induction heating, it should follow ISO 15590-1; if it is manufactured using cold bending, it should follow ISO 15590-4. These two standards focus more on specifying the technical requirements under specific manufacturing processes.

3. Materials and Performance: ASTM Standards: The material and performance requirements for elbows correspond to different ASTM material standards. For example, conventional carbon steel elbows can refer to ASTM A234, while those requiring higher toughness should refer to ASTM A758. These standards complement ASME B16.9.
